Rosetta Irregular Steps created the staircase, and Rosetta Dimensional Steps created the landings. Outcropping features large, structural blocks in 12 sizes and 24 stone textures, giving finished walls a random look. The Johnsons chose the Rosetta Outcropping Collection for their yard. Using wetcast concrete to create Rosetta gives the blocks an incredibly natural look that is engineered, consistent, and durable. Each Rosetta block is cast in molds taken from actual, weathered stone. Rosetta accurately captures the look and feel of nature in its richly textured blocks. Our plans kept getting more elaborate, but we said, 'You know what? We plan on staying here the rest of our lives. "It was so natural looking, and we knew we wanted to add a waterfall next to the staircase. "I just fell in love with the Rosetta stone," Carole said. Tim Davis of Country Farms showed the Johnsons several brochures of hardscape options including a dry cast system and natural boulders.īut for the Johnsons, the choice was clear. So the Johnsons contacted Country Farms, whom they've worked with for over 20 years on various landscaping projects. The goal of their project was to provide access to the upper part of the yard in an aesthetic way. From the back of the house, the lower level of the yard extended about 30 feet (9 meters), then sloped steeply up to a half acre on the upper level. "We knew we had to do something, and we wanted it to be a little unique," Glenn explained. All the shrubbery was dying, and the Johnsons knew it was time for a change. Hopefully a long-term missions position in El Salvador eventually. The hillside behind Glenn and Carole Johnson's home was long overdue for a renovation the wooden steps were deteriorating and to make matters worse, a tree had fallen across the slope. I was just there last month and my mission’s pastor and our translators told me I have SIGNIFICANTLY improved since earlier this year! (THANK YOU PROFESSOR KEITH!!!!!) God has a lot of doorways open for me multiculturally. I am constantly in contact with my friends in El Salvador so talking with them in their language helps me a lot. I love Rosetta Stone and the complete immersion that it uses to teach you. Now more than ever I have a passion for the language and can’t wait to be fluent one day. I am able to communicate online with them and luckily have translators when I visit the country, but nothing competes with a one-on-one relationship when you both speak the same language. “I travel to El Salvador…A LOT! That is my heartbeat behind wanting to learn Spanish. Rosetta Stone was a great program and the added bonus of having the German Bible brought in made it a well-rounded, amazing learning experience.” “The supplemental materials were very valuable to my studies.
